iibol 2021 passed me by and I didn’t even know the mighty Pharaoh put out a whole album (thank god for the endless barrage of ‘end of the year lists’ around this time). What can I say? Tim Aymar keeps getting absurdly better with age and Matt is just a wizard with a guitar. Just…thank you guys! Favorite track: I Can Hear Them.
Endless Metal Podcast

Endless Metal Podcast Worth the wait! Pharaoh are my favorite pure metal band. The power and musicality to hang with my other favorites re Nevermore and SYL. And the killer songs to distract me from a new Maiden or Priest album. Pharaoh make consistently phenomenal albums and I hope someday to see them tear it up live 🤘

Circles of light to infinity Every one is a star And each is a fragment of all divinity And will take its course across and afar Who claims the right of omnipotence? Who claims power over me? Bring me their heads Set loose the war dogs Blood will flow By the Powers That Be The Powers That Be The Powers That Be Who is coming to save us? Who is coming now To save our spirits? Who would think it, still Who would dare to say? Who would wish it, to steal my dreams away? Who would plot out a greater good for me? Who would want to enslave humanity? Would the Powers That Be? Bring me their heads Set loose the war dogs Blood will flow By the Powers That Be No one’s coming to save us No one’s coming Will we stand and save ourselves?

Will We Rise 04:21
Old wars we never won We fight, lose and die the same Re-conquered by a foe we can’t name Stand up! We cannot fall! We fool ourselves and heed the call Marching blindly into blame Will We Rise? Tear down all the lies they told To make us pay We’re trapped in a snare But the bait that we’re clutching is Poison and cold We’re caught unaware In the throes of the promise of Comfort and gold We gnaw our legs to stay alive We drown in blood but still we strive To sow the barren seeds they sold Will We Rise? Taking back the lives they dared To steal away Now dark stars have aligned The plague has come to claim us, Dress our flesh in dirt and lime We starve in our shelters And cower in our caves Crawl out just to fight ourselves For the right to be their slaves Will tomorrow be the same dead, grey, Eternal today? Will this sorrow never go away? We’re dying to wake ourselves up But I don’t think we’re dreaming Will We Rise? Tear down all the lies they told To make us pay Will We Rise? Taking back the lives They stole away

I dreamed I walked along a riverbed Burned up and barren, full of holes I saw a flower try to lift its head Before the sun would take its toll The fragile flower was my soul I walked until there came a confluence That once beheld a mighty sea And there I sifted through the evidence That had become my destiny And in this place Where even truth cannot be found Is where I lay my body down So as I lie there in my riverbed Until the sky went black and cold I saw that flower try to lift his head and for the rain his arms unfold Trusting the rain to flood the ground Thirsting for love... waiting to drown

The battle was over And so was the war They locked us together And marched us to shore With sun on our faces And swords at our back A hundred more paces To drown in the black Is this our destiny As we enter the sea? Is this our paradise In the depths of defeat? A new generation Damnation shall bring Sorrow’s creation And I’ll be their king And after a thousand years A revenge shall be made Those who have drowned us here Shall be all washed away Lost in the waves When the gods undersea Crack our hell suddenly Calm at first, just a breeze Before our wave of death released They will be roused by the roar Run to the shore And the oceans will rise up and swallow them They will be lost in the waves Adrift in their graves When the oceans will rise up and swallow them The elders were peaceful The young ones more brave They crawled for the beaches Then joined us the same They will be roused by the roar Run to the shore And the oceans will rise up and swallow them They will be lost in the waves Adrift in their graves When the oceans will rise up and swallow them

Immortal beast We have unleashed All the cruelty inside us An evil dream A wicked scheme Another tragedy divides us How many better men Crawl to their fate And how many lesser men Torture, terrorize, and hate Torture, terrorize, and hate you Lies and hypocrisy Casting the spells of disharmony Godless theocracy Ride us to hell where we all run free They make the facts We buy the act Propaganda confuses We take the stage And join the rage We never stop the abuses Why do you seem surprised? Did you get fooled? For now, those who told the lies Conquer, colonize, and rule Conquer, colonize, and rule you Lies and hypocrisy Casting the spells of disharmony Godless theocracy Ride us to hell where we all run free A violent storm In every form Strikes as all of humanity falls In disbelief And ancient grief There’s no hope for the future at all And when all the blood has been shed Who will remain? One day we all will be dead Silent solitude awaits Silent solitude awaits you Lies and hypocrisy Casting the spells of disharmony Godless theocracy Ride us to hell where we all should be

Outside today Drifting with the dust Haunted by what was I cried all day Cause all my hope was gone My strength to carry on Crawling home in dying light To drag myself inside I’m somehow still alive I close my eyes And the dream begins again Soon I’m flying Straight into the storm To be reborn Lightning flash And it penetrates my soul And I shatter In a thousand righteous lives For one more night I won’t surrender Before the end of time I still remember Back when the world was mine And in my dream By the power of the night I am godly Like a stream of sacred light And I burst in flight I won’t surrender Before the end of time I still remember Back when the world was mine So sweetly Deep inside my sleeping mind That’s my way to stay alive At the edge of time I’m becoming one again Now I’m fading By the lonely light of dawn When the world is gone But before I burn In reality’s return Just one more wish May I never wake again And this dream not end I won’t surrender Before the end of time Cause I still remember Back when the world was mine When the world was mine

Freedom 05:06
All you outsiders And castaways Hear you now our words We march today We’re all survivors We bear the scars The future’s in our hands Not written in the stars Is your back against the wall? No! No! Have our spirits been defeated? No! No! Stand together one and all Our battle call is Freedom We know our destiny It’s Freedom And it will come Freedom This is no mystery, just Freedom Cause we’re still young And we want more To every nation In every tongue Shout across the seas To everyone Each generation Thy ills be done The time is now to bond Our holy ghosts as one Cause they’re coming for our souls No! No! And we will not be defeated! No! No! Stand together in control The only goal is Freedom We know our destiny It’s Freedom And it will come Freedom This is no mystery, just Freedom Cause we’re still young And we want more We want more We stand together today To reclaim our every right To be free and dignified citizens of the world All you outsiders And castaways Hear you now our words We march today Now light the fires Prepare the feast Humanity shall rise And flood the streets Is your back against the wall? No! No! Have our spirits been defeated? No! No! Stand together one and all Our battle call is Freedom We know our destiny It’s Freedom And it will come Freedom This is no mystery, just Freedom Cause we’re still young and we want more We want more This is war We’re fighting for Freedom!

Dying Sun 06:48
They say the noonday sun burned a brilliant gold On crystal palaces towering high They sing of empires dancing for their queens of old Whose soldier-scholars conquered the sky All I see is the ember of a dying sun All I know are these ruined mounds of the dead All I hear are the strains of songs no longer sung All I dream are words in books that can't be read Now when I cast my mind back to early days, A distant time not so long ago All life seemed lit by warmer and brighter rays And greater deeds were done in their amber glow All I see is the ember of a dying sun All I know are these ruined mounds of the dead All I hear are the strains of songs no longer sung All I dream are words in books that can't be read Worn away, as by raindrops carving a canyon Grain by grain, all our works are borne to the sea Stars will fade, and the days dissolve into darkness Cold and grey, nothing left to do or be One debt we pay, everyone, the same: the price of birth Though I will die in the dark I lived, The last of my kind On the sunlit earth All I dream is the dying sun All I hear... All I know... All I see... All I feel… is the cold, dead sun

Now in the twilight Clouds overhead A stillborn sunrise Still closer to the end Eyes in shadows And faces in the moon They see you clearly now And whisper of your doom Oh! Humanity Starts to fade away Now in silence In the grey haze of dawn The undead choir stands Waiting for a song With angels in the wings A demon in your ear Flies toward the flame Damned to disappear Oh! Inhumanity! Some did not survive But they kept the rest alive And will not be denied I can hear them Calling me I can hear them Restlessly I can hear them Calling me I can hear them Endlessly Free from history Come back to take it all Without sympathy Like a ghost to break the wall We join the symphony And rage against despair One more voice forever Echoes through the air I can hear them Calling me I can hear them Restlessly I can hear them Calling me I can hear them Endlessly
